It's official...

I'm a real runner. Sure, I'm in my 3rd week if training for a half marathon (more on that SOON!) but for the first time in my life I have real running shoes.

I went to Red Rock Running company for the works. Running barefoot on a treadmill, analyzing the video with the expert, coming to the conclusion that I'm "neutral", getting fitted in about 8 different shoes, running in all of them in the parking lot, and finally deciding that these babies will carry me through 6 months of training plus over the finish line in December.

Very nice shoes. I'm still wearing my very first pair of official running shoes. I practically worship them. If I'm only going to go for a walk I refuse to wear them... They are for running only... Silly, but they are special to me!!! Good luck!

If you are reading this, then you have probably decided to follow me on my ShapeUp Journey. It is sure to be a bumpy walk, but it will be worth it in the end. I plan to post my weight loss updates, but figure that those will get pretty boring. So, I also plan to try and enrich your lives with tips and tricks that are helping me along the way, as well as any random thoughts I have pertaining to fitness and weight loss.

**UPDATE** I started losing weight in February 2009. I lost 80 pounds by the end of the year with diet, exercise, and checking in with a nutritionist once a month . Then, I got pregnant and gained some back. I had a baby in May 2010 and lost all my baby weight by December 2010. I started using Weight Watchers with their extra points for breastfeeding in Sept 2010 and plan to use WW until I reach my goal, which by the way... I'm in the home stretch of my goal weight of losing 126 total!

**UPDATE****UPDATE** I had ANOTHER baby! I am still using my heaviest weight ever as a starting point and while I am not back to square one I have a long way to go again. I got down to 162 during my half marathon training and weight watcher-ing in 2011. I am back on WW and using their extra breastfeeding points again as of 5/31/13. I am hoping to get back to 162 and maybe even lower by my sons 1st birthday. Wish me luck!
